User Guides - Advanced Configuration
Real-time monitoring for zero downtime
Advanced Configuration Overview
Take full control of your monitoring infrastructure with StatusPulse’s advanced configuration tools. These guides are designed for DevOps engineers, SREs, and platform architects who need granular control over alert routing, public-facing status dashboards, and compliance-ready uptime reporting.
Below you’ll find step-by-step tutorials for configuring multi-tier escalation policies, injecting custom CSS into your status page, and automating monthly SLA reports with precise downtime attribution. All settings are applied via the StatusPulse dashboard and take effect within 60 seconds.
Escalation Policies
Multi-Channel Alert Escalation
Configure time-based handoffs between PagerDuty, Slack #ops-warroom, and SMS fallbacks. Set initial notification delays to 90 seconds, auto-escalate to Level 2 after 7 minutes, and trigger executive SMS alerts if resolution exceeds 45 minutes. Supports up to 5 escalation layers per monitor group.
Scheduled Downtime Suppression
Prevent false positives during planned deployments by linking cron-based maintenance windows to specific endpoint clusters. Define UTC offsets, recurring weekly blackout periods, and automatic policy suspension for AWS us-east-1 and GCP europe-west2 regions.
Status Page Customization
Branded Dashboard Styling
Override default StatusPulse UI tokens using the Custom CSS editor. Adjust --primary-accent, --status-error, and --card-border-radius variables to match your corporate design system. Supports media queries for mobile breakpoints at 768px and 1024px.
Dynamic Service Grouping
Map internal monitor names to public-facing component labels. Group API endpoints, CDN nodes, and database clusters under collapsible sections. Enable real-time status sync with custom heartbeat intervals of 10, 30, or 60 seconds.
SLA Reporting
Automated Monthly SLA Generation
Generate auditable SLA reports with 99.9% and 99.99% threshold tracking. Reports include weighted downtime attribution, incident overlap resolution, and PDF/CSV exports compliant with ISO 27001 audit requirements. Data retention spans 36 months.
Response Time & Error Rate Tracking
Supplement availability data with HTTP 2xx/3xx success rates, median TTFB, and p95 latency benchmarks. Configure alert thresholds for response degradation over 800ms and export raw telemetry to your preferred data warehouse via SFTP.
